Indigo Scientific Advisory LLC (d/b/a Indigo Scientific) provides high-stakes consulting at the intersection of science, law, and regulation. Our experts deliver evidence-based strategies for clients navigating complex medicolegal matters and regulatory pathways. Within our medicolegal arm, we provide litigation support and expert consulting to legal teams in high-stakes criminal and civil cases. Our work includes neuroimaging and behavioral science analysis, case strategy support, expert testimony preparation, and rebuttal responses.

We are building a roster of highly qualified Medicolegal Consultants to support casework on an independent contractor basis. This is a 1099 role with no guarantee of work volume; medicolegal consulting observes a natural ebb and flow throughout the year. Assignments are project-based and compensated per engagement.

Responsibilities:

·       Provide scientific, technical, and/or clinical expertise to support criminal and civil litigation.

·       Conduct literature review and prepare clear, courtroom-ready written reports, declarations, and recommendations..

·       Assist with case strategy, rebuttal/Daubert preparation, and expert testimony support.

·       Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive client materials.

Qualifications:

·       Advanced degree in neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, neurology, or related field (e.g., PhD, MD, MS).

·       Familiarity with structural and functional neuroimaging as it relates to human behavior.

·       Familiarity with Landmark case law, Constitutional law, and forensic science.

·       Strong scientific writing and communication skills.

·       Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

·       Experience in forensic or medicolegal cases and consulting preferred.

·       Must disclose any conflicts of interest.

Additional Requirements:

·       Professional liability (Errors & Omissions) insurance covering consulting/expert work. Medical malpractice insurance may not be sufficient (verification required).

·       Independent contractor status only; this is not an employment relationship.

Compensation:

We anticipate our consultants earning an hourly rate of $65-$175, depending on experience, qualifications, and type of engagement.

Growth Potential:
While this role is project-based, there is future potential to contribute to Indigo Scientific’s growth as a collaborative think tank. Consultants interested in thought leadership, research development, or shaping new service offerings may have opportunities to expand their role over time.
